在事故现场，往往没有专用的医用气囊止血带或其他止血带，救助者可根据现场情况，就便取材，利用三角巾、围巾、领带、衣服、床单等作为布带止血带。但布带止血带缺乏弹性，止血效果差，如果过紧还容易造成肢体损伤或缺血坏死，因此，尽可能在短时间内使用。
